2023 has followed in its predecessor’s footsteps and refrained from giving trustees a well-deserved break. Trustee understanding was highlighted as a key issue from the LDI crisis last year , and we are yet to figure out the role of LDI in a post crisis industry. With continued increasing of regulation, the discussion of “the role of a trustee” changes likes the weather in this rough economic climate. Plus, with the local election round the corner, trustees await on how this will affect their realities further. More positively, the PMI has launched diversity and inclusion certificate training. This has followed the TPR’s action plan to encourage diversity among trustee boards and is expected to offer training in June 2023. This is just a snapshot of a trustee’s reality as of present, plus so many other issues and changes to work through. With so much for trustees to worry about, how much is too much?
