How it started…

With vast experience in the buyout market, K3’s founder identified a gap for small schemes and set up K3 to provide pension trustees and scheme sponsors with specialised advice and brokering services. Their goal was to help pension trustees and scheme sponsors to manage transfer of liabilities to an insurer or consolidation vehicle; an option previously unavailable due to issues of scale.

Having secured investment in the business, K3 appointed KBPR to:

  • Develop a go-to-market PR and marketing strategy
  • Build the K3 Advisory brand
  • Support with industry connections; and
  • Become a trusted advisor.

With no existing clients or market presence K3 needed to quickly establish credibility to win work and become sought after in the bulk annuity and consolidation market.  

The story so far…

Initially we worked with the Directors to help them refine their vision and positioning. We looked at the existing market and identified gaps in the conversation where K3 could establish a position of expertise. We strength tested K3’s messaging and challenged their vision in order to develop a strong voice and robust offering.

Having done this, we introduced K3’s spokespeople to relevant press; allowing them to demonstrate their breadth of experience and their approach to key market issues. K3 is now regularly called upon to provide commentary as a recognised expert in the bulk annuity and consolidation market.

We went on to write and design K3’s client newsletter to keep clients, industry peers and prospects updated on developments within the industry, by sharing knowledge and providing updates on K3. We advised on distribution to ensure maximum reach and campaign success. We also established a presence for K3 on social media, by building their following and advising on compelling content, graphics, and relevant hashtags to increase engagement.

Our work with K3 has continued since their initial launch, and during the past two years we have helped them to cement their position as the only adviser in their specialist space through high impact PR activity and a strong social media presence.

Where we are now…

K3 have now completed high profile transactions and forged close expert relationships with consultants and fiduciary managers, with whom they work closely to continue providing this unique service to small schemes.

The company is now a recognised expert in the bulk annuity and consolidation market and was shortlisted for the Pensions Age Consultancy of the Year award after just one year.
