Sackers has announced the promotion of Arshad Khan from Associate Director to the new role of Senior Counsel, with effect from 1 December 2019.
Peter Murphy, head of pensions and investment litigation at Sackers, said: “This is a new role which we have introduced to recognise a contribution being made at a senior level, both in relation to managing clients and demonstrating significant technical expertise. We are delighted that Arshad, with his extensive experience of all types of pensions disputes from member complaints through to appeal court litigation, is Sackers’ very first Senior Counsel.” Arshad Khan joined Sackers in 2004 and has over 15 years’ experience of contentious pensions work, advising both trustees and employers.
He is ranked as a pensions litigation specialist by Chambers UK 2020 and has been involved both in high profile pensions cases in the High Court and regulatory disputes as well as a variety of cases before the Pensions Ombudsman including on transfers, overpayments and death benefits.
