PTL, the leading independent trustee and governance services provider, has announced
the appointment of Clare James as a Client Director. Clare will be based in PTL’s London office in The City.
Richard Butcher, Managing Director at PTL, said: “Clare joins us at a time when pensions governance is understandably high on the corporate agenda, and much of this onus is being placed on trustees. This is therefore a perfect time to strengthen our team with another individual of proven expertise and longstanding experience. With a 25-year track record in the pensions industry, and more than 10 years of service on various governing boards, Clare is sure to enhance the team with her strong corporate governance skills
and technical know-how.”
Clare James, Client Director at PTL, added: “Having come from both an actuarial and
investment consulting background, I know the importance of presenting a fully integrated offering and ensuring that schemes have joined-up investment and funding strategies. It’s crucial that our clients are presented with the bigger picture to ensure they are making the best decisions for their schemes and members. PTL has a brilliant reputation for providing high standards of trusteeship and client service in a pragmatic and effective way, so I’m thrilled to be joining the team and look forward to working together to continue raising governance standards.”
Clare has a first-class degree in Engineering from Emmanuel College, Cambridge and
became a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 1999. Clare is an elected
member of the City of London Corporation, where she serves on various committees
including the Finance Committee, leading on pension-related matters, and on the
Financial Investment Board. She is also a Trustee Director of the City’s Multi-Academy
Trust.
