ZEDRA, an award-winning provider of pension and incentive services, today announced that ZEDRA Governance, as trustee of Marelli’s UK Schemes, has agreed the transfer of all six schemes’ assets and liabilities to Clara.

ZEDRA Governance, with a joint client director team of Alastair Meeks and Dan Walsh, is the sole trustee of six pension schemes in the Marelli UK group. Collectively, the schemes have approximately £250 million in assets and around 3,500 members and pensioners.

Working closely with the sponsor, ZEDRA negotiated terms with Clara for the transfer of all six schemes. As part of the agreement, the sponsor will provide an injection of funds, giving members the benefit of additional ringfenced capital and enhanced long-term security, while allowing the Marelli group to progress its restructuring plans.

Alastair Meeks, Client Director at ZEDRA, said: “We are very pleased to have secured a successful outcome for the schemes that achieves both sponsor and pension scheme objectives, and to have done so quickly and efficiently. Our thanks go to our core team of Lane Clark & Peacock, Sackers and Squire Patton Boggs, who have helped us deliver this result for our members.

“We also recognise the support of the sponsor and its advisers throughout the process, and the collaborative approach taken by Clara. Ultimately, this is about providing greater security for our members and pensioners, and we are pleased to have achieved that.”
